The Nathan Project for Rare Diseases

Mission statement and purpose

Mission statement

To improve the standard of care and quality of life for kids and their families affected by rare diseases.

Our purpose is to optimize the management of rare diseases in children, with the aim of improving health outcomes and quality of life for kids and their families.

Our vision

Our vision is to change the paradigm of rare disease management for children by developing a new model of care. We imagine a future where this model can be utilised to manage complex rare disease patients in our own stand-alone centre. The Nathan centre will operate as a centre of excellence for rare diseases in Western Australia. Our focus will be helping kids affected by rare diseases, conducting rare disease research, providing educational resources to medical professionals, and supporting families within our community.
